Welcome to the mobile section of the Loughton Astronomical Society web site.
The LAS meets on Thursday evenings (8:00 - 10:00 p.m.) in the Scout Hall, off Loughton Lane, Theydon Bois, Essex (next to the Cricket Club).
Positioned on the edge of Epping Forest, close to junctions on the M25 and M11 and with a station on the Central Line between London and Epping, transport to and from the LAS is easy. Nestled in a village with no street lights we are ideally positioned for Astronomy. We also have a large meeting room for talks and demonstrations. Click or Tap on the "Find Us" tab above for instructions on how to find us.
We welcome all levels of experience from the absolute beginner to the experienced astronomer. Why not come along one Thursday evening. Guests are always welcome. Our Thursday evening programme and our programme of other activities are listed below.
We also have a junior section for observers aged 6-14 years. Click or tap on the "Astrokyds" tab above for more details.
For charts of the night sky click or tap on the observing button and then select "Star Chart".
